The easiest way to support your boys, girls, middle school and club teams in Takedown is to create a separate Season for each team.
For example, you can create Seasons with these titles:
- 2022 - 2023 Boys High School
- 2022 - 2023 Girls High School
- 2022 - 2023 Middle School
- 2022 - 2023 Club
The benefits of this implementation over a single Season implementation:
- Each Season's Schedule, Roster and list of Opponent Teams is shorter and team-specific
- Each Season has a default set of weight classes. You won't need to change the weight classes for each Event.
- In Reports, filtering by Season is easier than filtering by Event
- For each team, the operator is working in only their Season so the risk of inadvertent data deletions or changes in minimized
Your implementation is your decision and circumstances might lead to a different configuration. In our experience, however, absent compelling need to do otherwise, this implementation is preferred.

Would this work for / apply to teams that want to keep their JV and Varsity Squads separate? We run two separate practices and the attendance and weigh-ins would be easier to manage if we could separate them...
