Tapping "Override" in the Scoring interface activates all scoring buttons for a single tap after which the buttons will revert to the usual assortment of activated and non-activated buttons depending on the match context. You might need to tap Override a second time for the next scoring event.
Override is typically used for three reasons:
- For legal though infrequent scoring sequences
Example: defensive pin - For adding a scoring event that makes the match score correct but is out of context
Example: after starting the match clock in the 2nd period then adding a missed escape from the end of the 1st period. Note: if caught before the match clock start in the 2nd period, this error is easily corrected with "Undo" which can be repeatedly tapped to "back up" to the 1st period. - For legal scoring that we did not anticipate in the scoring logic. There might be corner cases buried deep in the rules that we've missed. We aren't aware of any but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Caution: overusing Override will lead to statistical discrepancies and unexpected, difficult to resolve outcomes.
